This is an 8 hours tour; you will disembark the ship Hellesylt port and rejoin the vessel in Geiranger port. Your tour begins by traveling to Hellesylt, where you’ll see the Hellesylt waterfall — one of the most photographed scenes in the area — with its water cascading down the granite stones. From there, you’ll drive to Europe’s deepest lake, Hornindal. Its crystal-clear water has a depth of over 1,600 feet. Next, you’ll drive past the villages of Stryn and Loen, and continue along several lakes through the Olden Valley to Olden, a charming village at the head of a fjord, until you reach the Briksdalbre Mountain Lodge. From there, you’ll continue on foot toward Briksdal Glacier, an arm of the mighty Jostedalsbreen — the largest glacier in mainland Europe. You’ll walk uphill, crossing over a wooden bridge with a waterfall below, and a short distance later, you’ll reach a mountain valley and the beautiful glacier. Be sure to capture some photos while you’re face to face with this massive sheet of ice. After your visit, you will return to the inn and have some lunch. Then it’s back toward Stryn, turning inland through Stryn Valley along Stryn Lake and climbing Old Strynefjell Mountain Road, the old connection between western and eastern Norway. As your tour comes to completion, you’ll travel through several tunnels on your way to Geiranger and make one last stop, at Flydal Gorge’s viewpoint, one of the most popular viewpoints in Norway. Capture amazing views of Geirangerfjord and your cruise ship below!
