Depart quayside by coach to the San Anton gardens, laid out by Grand Master Antoine de Paule as grounds to his summer residence, today the residence of the President of Malta. Various heads of state have visited the gardens over the years. The garden is a botanical delight with mature trees, old stone urns, fountains, ponds and flower beds. Your next location is the vineyard in Ta Qali, situated along the old airway strip used by the British during the Second World War. This is where Brain May’s father was stationed as a pilot with Royal Air force, in 1942. At this winery, some of Malta’s most delicate wines are produced; you will have the opportunity to savour the taste of our earth’s produce, during a wine tasting session accompanied by local nibbles. After the winery you will proceed to the crafts village to watch a number of local artisans at work producing typical Maltese ware which includes glass, silver and filigree. Free time to stroll around, before embarking the coach to drive back to the pier.
