Your tour begins with a 90-minute drive from the pier in Civitavecchia to Rome. Once arrived in Rome, visit the impressive Colosseum. This masterpiece of classical architecture is an enormous amphitheater where gladiators and wild beasts once battled to death in front of 50,000 spectators. A brief free time to take photographs will follow your visit before you re-board your coach. Drive to the Vatican City. Here you’ll have some time on your own to have lunch or explore independently before you meet back your tour guide. Walk to the entrance of the Vatican Museums and admire the amazing treasures collected by the Popes throughout the centuries while walking along the rooms and galleries .You will have time to see a portion of the many beautiful pieces of work. Your tour continues with a visit to the Sistine Chapel, highlighted by Michelangelo's masterpieces and impressive frescos, including the "Last Judgment." After your tour of the Sistine Chapel, you will visit St. Peter's Basilica, the largest church in the world. Among the many fine pieces of art and mosaics on display are Michelangelo's "Pieta" and the beautifully carved Bernini Pulpit. You will then rejoin the coach and return to Civitavecchia.

  • For safety reasons, the Minister of Tourism has established a maximum number of visitors allowed inside the Colosseum at once. As a consequence of this new rule, groups with reservations may be stopped and/or delayed.
  • Due to traffic regulation in Rome, additional walking may be required from motor coaches drop-off/pick-up points to the various sites visited.
  • Please note that St Peter's Basilica might close for security reason at any given time without previous notice. In this event, your guide will provide a full explanation from outside and free time for photos and shopping will be given.
  • If the wait at the St. Peter's Basilica security checkpoint is longer than 45 minutes, the guide will forego the inside visit and provide you with a full explanation and description while outside.
  • Should your guide foresee that the queue at the Colosseum is longer than a 45-minute wait, you will forego the interior visit of the Colosseum and an inside visit to the Roman Forum will be made instead.
  • Visitors must pass through metal detectors at the Vatican Museum, St. Peter's Basilica, the Colosseum, and the Roman Forum. Large bags or umbrellas, bottled water, video cameras, knives or scissors must be checked at the security check-points. It is strictly forbidden to enter the with backpacks, suitcases, trolleys and large bags/objects. Please be aware that lockers are NOT available.
  • If there is a special event or mass at St. Peter's Basilica, the guide will provide commentary outside and guests will enter on their own. Access may be restricted during mass.
  • Have shoulders and knees covered for visiting religious buildings.=
  • May operate in reverse.
  • Flash photos are not permitted in the Vatican Museum. Photography and video are not permitted at all in the Sistine Chapel.
  • Please note that for tour groups on visit to the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica the use of headsets owned and provided by the respective site's managements is compulsory. It is very important for guests to be aware that they will be responsible for the headset devices provided.
