In this scenic, coastal excursion, experience the island of Krk (pronounced “kirk”), one of the largest islands in the Adriatic Sea and often referred to as the “Golden Island” due to its sparkling sandy beaches. To get the island of Krk, you will take a 1.5-hour scenic drive across Krk Bridge to the island. Once you arrive, you'll follow your tour guide on a 1.5 hour walking tour through Krk, seeing architectural remains from Roman times, the Middle Ages and the Renaissance era. At the end of the walking tour, you’ll have 30 minutes of free time to stroll along the charming streets on your own. From there, it's time to embark on a 30-minute drive to Vrbnik village, one of Krk's oldest villages. In addition to its historical beauty, Vrbnik village is Surrounded by lush vineyards which produce the famed žlahtina white wine. Speaking of wine-tasting, you'll have a chance to visit the Konoba Nada Wine Cellar, located in the restaurant Nada, for a delicious wine -tasting and appetizer pairing. Later, your tour will take you on another walking tour through the Old Town of Vrbnik, which boasts historic sites, including: Illyrian ramparts, the Frankopan castle and Krk Cathedral.
