Explore the land and culture of the ancient Maya on your journey through the Guatemalan countryside to the site of the former Mayan capital. Ride in air-conditioned comfort through the western highlands on a two and a half hour guided drive to the archeological site of Iximche. Upon arrival, a local guide will provide information on the structures and history of the Mayan people who once lived at Iximche. The site is still actively used for Mayan rituals, and guests may have the opportunity to witness, from a distance, one of these regularly performed rituals.
