Board your motor coach and drive through Funchal passing the picturesque fishing village of Câamara de Lobos, a favorite hangout of Sir Winston Churchill in the 1950s. From there, you will drive past vineyards, terraced fields, pinewoods and eucalyptus groves to the clifftop of Cabo Girão. This is the second highest sea cliff in the world, rising 1,500 feet above sea level. The clifftop view offers stunning views of the Funchal coastline, with the city of Funchal. After this, you'll make a photo stop at Pico dos Barcelos for panoramic views of Funchal with its red-tiled roofs, and then continue onto Blandy’s Wine Lodge, established in 1811 and one of the oldest and most respected producers of Madeira wine. You'll earn about the four different types of Madeiran wine and then sample two varieties of your choosing. You can even purchase a few bottles before you complete your tour and head back to the ship.
