Our tour will start with a visit to a 'Koum Kouat’ distillery and how the fruit is turned into famous delicacies from the island. Koum Kouat fruit, which grows only in Corfu, is made into one of the island’s most famous product, a liqueur with the same name, along with fruit-preserved sweets. You'll be able to sample some of the delicious wares and purchase some of the produce made from Koum Kouat. Our tour continues with a visit to the villa which the Empress Elizabeth of Austria chose to build in Corfu as her refuge, far from the obligations of the Hapsburg court. Accompanied by your local guide you will enter the fascinating and fairy-tale world of Achillion, the home that the Empress dedicated to her favorite hero, Achilles. This sumptuously decorated villa is surrounded by magnificent gardens sweeping down to the sea. Leaving the villa, you will then continue towards one of the island's most beautiful locations, Kanoni; an islet connected to the mainland, with a beautiful white monastery. There will be enough time to take photographs to capture this picturesque panorama, before heading towards Corfu Town. The heart of the town, built on the side of a hill, contains a labyrinth of small alleyways crisscrossing larger, bustling streets abound with typical old craftsmen's workshops.
